Lawrence wildlife control tip of the month:
How to keep opossums out of your building
If you have a building, especially out in the country or a rural area, then you know that opossums are likely to becoming around. These critters come out at night looking for food in any location they can find it, and your garbage can, dog food dish, or garden can be a tantalizing option. On top of that if there is a way into your shed or attic, the opossum is likely to make your building their new building as well. Because opossums carry so many diseases it is important to keep these critters away from Lawrence pest control.
If you are looking to keep opossums from getting into your building, there are a few things Lawrence wildlife removal could do to make your building more uninviting. The first of these is to ensure that there is no access point for them to gain the ability to get into your building. If you have a lose board or a whole in the siding the opossum may find this the perfect means to get inside. Lawrence pest control would do a thorough search around your building to make sure that there is nothing that allows for this kind of access. If you do find a gap, hole or loss board, make sure you seal these well.
If you have sources of food outside Lawrence exterminator will tell you to remove these things. Lawrence animal trapping says to keep your garbage cans locked in the garage or in a shed. Make sure that the lids are on tight. If you have a garden make sure that it has a fence around it and that the fence goes at least 12 inches into the ground. Opossums can dig so if the fence bottom is at ground level you will not keep them out. Do not keep your pets’ dishes outside. That is another source of food for them. If there is not food near your property then there is no reason for the opossums to come.
It is also a good idea to have the lights on outside at night. Opossums are nocturnal creatures that function best in the dark. If you want to keep them away make sure that there is a large enough amount of light around .Lawrence wildlife removal choose to get motion sensors, which is a really good idea. When these turn the lights on that scare the opossums who will run away.
Common sense things are what you need to do to be successful in keeping the opossums away. The more sensible you are the more success you will have.
